When planning a child’s birthday party you have to make sure you have a list of activities lined up. Children tend to get bored easily and some children may have the tendency to want to move from one activity to the next within minutes. Therefore if you are throwing a party for your child it would be wise to have a list of games prepared.

Old enough to appreciate

If you are throwing a party for your child who’s between the ages of five and ten, they will be old enough to both remember and understand that the party is for them therefore they are more likely to appreciate it more than an infant who would not have a clue as to what is going on. Decorations are an important aspect of the party. First pick a theme, preferably something your child loves like a favorite Disney character they may adore or a superhero they want to be like. After you pick a theme, try and base the entire party around the theme and not just the decorations. For example if you pick a fish themed party try and get the cups, plates and the cake centered around the theme.

The games

The games are the most important part of the party. Events like musical chairs, pin the tail on the donkey and dancing statues are classics which you cannot go wrong with it. Planning a treasure hunt is another fun activity which will entertain the children. However, try not to make it too hard because the children might give up if the clues are too difficult to find. Clowns and magic shows also serve as a great source of fun, which often leave the party guests mesmerized. However, if you do not want to spend too much on the party by hiring clowns and having magic shows but you still want to make sure the children have something to keep them entertained, hiring a bouncer for the day will do the trick.

The Prizes

It is common to have prizes for the winners of the party games and while the prizes will bring smiles to the faces of the winners it could upset the other children who did not win anything. Therefore make it a point to have something for every child at the end of the party. This is where loot bags come in handy. A loot bag is a thank you gift for the guests who attended the party, which are usually filled with toys and other goodies for the children.
